GK MB2-500 with GK MB212 Cab or GK MB212 Combo Amp?

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently own a Gallien-Krueger MB2-500 that I had been playing with a cab which I no longer own. I am in the midst of preparing to purchase a new setup. So I put the two options I have arrived at and ask you: "Which way do I go?"

Option A: keep the MB2-500 and purchase the MB212 cabinet to go with it. (benefit: options not on the combo. Tuner out, mute, toggle for active/passive, foot switch for boost)

Option B: Sell the MB2-500 and purchase MB212 combo amp. (benefit: portability, not needing to have amp separate.)

Man, just typing it in here, option A seems to be more tempting. But I put it out there to see what you all think.

Thanks!

Yea, more and more, A seems like the right idea. The only other question is, Do I go with the 212 cab it a 210 cab, so I can expand and get a 12 or a 14 down the road? Will ne my soul gigging rig.

I'd go with B. Get a pedal tuner.

Eh, the pedal tuner won't fit on the Nano! LOL. Seriously, though - pedal tuner would put me back into the where do I fit the tuner on my board? My 4 effects fit perfectly on my Pedaltrain Nano.
The more I think about it, the MB2-500 has not done me wrong - just need a cab, you know?
