GK MB200 with Avatar 2x10?

I'm wondering if anyone plays this little sucker through an Avatar 2x10 neo or similar; I only play PA supported gigs through my Avatar, and use the bigger 700RBII now. At 140W @8ohms, I'm tempted to try it; or, should I hold out for the more powerful MB500? I don't use effects, and I love the idea of its portability--though a little wary anything that size could do the job.

I use my MB200 with a 4 ohm Carvin BRX2.10 when I jam with friends at work and it does well with 2 guitars and drums. For gigs though I would want the MB500 because the MB200 does bump up against the limiter at times.

Well, "loud" is always relative to one's ears just as needs are to situations. However, I can tell you that my MB200 through my Avatar NEO410 is quite impressive. Granted, my cab is 4 ohms and has 2 more speakers than yours. Also, I have no PA support, but outside of my basement, I only play in small to medium church settings with the occasional raucous youth group event, but I have never needed all the volume I have with that combo. I really love it. I have never heard/felt the limiter, but I have never played outside or with a heavy drummer.

I'd hold out for the MB-500 for what your doing.
Where only talk'n a few bucks more and 1.8 lbs. heavier, plus the 500 will give more tonal options and a "much" stronger power section.

I've been doing more and more jobs with just one of my 8 ohm Avatar Neo 210 cabinets and my GK MB2-500 head, (350 watts at 8 ohms), or my Ampeg PF-500 head, (300 watts at 8 ohms).
It's surprised me how loud they can get with only one 210 cabinet...heavy metal loud...No...for my country/rock gigs in reasonable sized rooms...yes...with PA support almost anywhere we play.

Impossible question to answer actually. I play NYC small bars/clubs/etc. Being NYC, I like to travel light for a quick in/quick out type thing. Used to bring my GKRB700II and a pair of GK Neo cabs. Then I got smart. Now I pretty much only bring a GKMB200 and one GK Neo 112 cab. I play with a variety of groups, but the loudest is electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums, and me. Mix is 50/50 originals and standard rock type covers. In the venues I play, I have absolutely no trouble keeping up volume wise. No trouble at all. Now if I play an outdoor festival, well that's a different story. So my answer to your question is that it all depends on the genre of music and the physical layout of the venue. But the MB200 can get real loud for what it is.
