Yes, I don't like classifying sound like that because it can be very subjective. But by vintage I mean something warm and fat like an ampeg or mesa (maybe not to the point of tube overdrive), and for modern I mean a more hi-fi, clear sound, with a wider freq response or more pronounced hi-freq response(maybe something like SWR).

Out of the box with the knobs centered and contour off, the MB200 has a "scooped" voicing, which would probably resemble SWR. You can flatten the voicing by turning up bass and treble, and turning down the mids. This will give you a more SVT-like voicing. Granted, this only covers frequency response and not other factors such as distortion, but it should at least give you an idea of the flexibility of the 4-band EQ.

Shouldn't you do the opposite? turn down the Bass and treble or turn up the mids.

I could be wrong; it's 1 A.M.

Yeah i think you mean the opposite fdeck? i felt mine was scooped with eq set to noon. Was it your response plots that showed its scooped? Anyway i set it to 10-2-2-10ish and felt it balanced out the sound quite a bit. Ive used it that way since.

I think the amp is coming from a fairly modern tone profile though the active eq is capable of a wide variety of sounds. I think gk has pretty much always made more modern sounding amps. I like mine a lot.
