GK MB200 vs. Carvin BX500

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm in the market for a small powerful mini bass head.

I have a new GK MB200 on order, but they recently pushed the ship date on these up to the end of June. I'm not sure if I want to play the waiting game,,,and then deal with the "first run glitches" that seem to haunt all things when they first come out.

I have been looking and reading up on the Carvin BX500. Their seems to be a "love / hate" relationship here on talkbass with these. I've owned and used Carvin amps and basses for years with no problems...

Advice?????

Well, the carvin will have over 2x more power, and the reliability of both those companies "small head" product runs is slightly sketchy (but usually fine)

The carvin will have more features and tone shaping. The tone of either head will be good.
