GK MB210 AMP OR EXTENSION

Sign in to disble this ad
As some of you are aware, the wait for the new GK MBE210 extension cabinet has been very long .
I have been told it will be another 3 months for it to get to the UK and will cost about £350 !!!
I am wondering about not getting the extension cab and just buying another GK MB210 combo instead as these are £470, can I safely use the second amp as an extension cabinet for my original MB210, this will also give me the benefit of having a back up amp for gigs for just an extra £120.
Do you just stack them up, connect the speakon connections up and play as a 4x10 with the extra amp left switched off ?

No. You COULD have an amp tech go in there and install a switch to allow you to do that, however. Wouldn't it be easier to just 'Y' into both amps?

Just getting impatient waiting and looking at possible alternatives, I had thought about two amps as I can get another amp next day, wonder if they can stack ok with the control panel cut out ??

The 210MBE has been shipping for several weeks and is also in stock here. If you are not getting your order you must make sure you dealer actually has an order with us.

If you use a right-angle plug, you can stack them just fine.

If you run two combos at the same time, you could try running the DI signal from the first one into the input of the second one. Not sure if the levels will match.

There was a guy on here that was using two MB210 combos at the same time.

I did see the two combos stacked in a photo on here, they were stacked horizontally .
Surely using two combos will still give 350 Watts instead of the full 500 with an extension cabinet ??
I suppose it would be possible to A-B them to get two separate EQs, would be handy .
