GK MB210 gig report.

So last night I played my first bar gig with my new G&L JB. Love the JB! But I wanted to talk about my GK MB210 here.

I see these getting a bit of a bad rep here and I'm sure some of it is justified (too boomy, too rattly, etc). Well, I have to say that mine has been great. Last night we played a medium sized but crowded bar (about 200 people at max I'd say). The crowd was really loud too. My band just got another guitar so we are 2 guitars, keys, drums and bass. I was told I was a bit too quiet at first but once I jacked it up a bit there was no problem. I had boost and gain both around noon, master at a bit past 1, bass at about 10 and the rest just past noon and got a nice smooth but cutting sound with a good, deep feel. No, we are not a "polished" band but we are loud! And my 33 pound friend got the job done. That's all I can ask.

So yeah, I'd probably rather have a GB Shuttle 6 and a Berg 2x10 but I also enjoy the $600+ I saved and have all I want in the MB210.

Anyway, just wanted to put in my 2 cents in case anyone was curious.

I probably have 20 gigs with the MB210 combo also. The schlep factor is great and its loud enough for everything Ive needed so far.

Like you said, will it sound like a streamliner into an AE412 cab, heck no, but for the price, I dont think there is anything comparable in its price range.

Did you put it up on anything, or have it sit on the floor?
I get more sound from mine if I have it up off the floor, so I built a little wood stand for it.

I had it on a little riser built in at the bar. I played there with it on the floor once and this was better - clearer sound.
