GK MB410 Combo....

Oh this thing looks sweet.... and at 49 lbs....

GK’s MB410 cab is an extension of their MB combo line, which already includes the 210, 212, 115, and 112. Utilizing the same digital amp technology as its siblings, the 410 pumps out 500 watts through four 10-inch Neodymium speakers. An active and passive input are included for flexibility.

MB410 Details:
•500 watt Digital power amp
•1/8” aux input
•Headphone jack
•Defeatable limiter
•Four 10” Neodymium speakers
•Tweeter with bypass
•49 pounds

Great, another option to consider beside the MB210 and MB212.
I promise I won't turn this into another A vs. B (vs. C) thread but from what I understand, a single MB210 isn't loud enough in a relatively loud band setting whereas an MB212 is, correct? So would this be that much louder than the 212?

Wonder how much these will cost and can't wait to hear opinions!

Are they out already? I was told by GK, which is right up the street from me, that it won't be out until sometime in June.

I like 4x10's, and will probably be trading my MB212 in on one, as for me, the MB212 doesn't cut it . . . it's not my gigging rig, but I do use it at church every Sunday morning, which it is perfect for that. However, I use it a my regular band practice, and with three guitards and a loud acoustic drummer . . . I get drowned out! If I EQ the mids up more and use more bridge pickup . . . it's OK tho!

Looking forward to learning more about this one! I'd love to have something like this be my main rig for any and all playing situations! At 49 pounds, hauling it around won't be an issue at all!

I have the mb115, love it but not enough watts (200 watts). Im thinking the mb410 (500 watts) will be perfect or should i go with the 1001rb with the gk neo 410 cab?

Ordered mine today!

After selling some equipment I'm not using anymore I decided between buying a small powered mixer and getting a good back up amp for my GK MB212. I decided to go for the GK MB410-II, which should turn my MB212 into the back up. I ordered it from RMC Audio Direct, and it's in stock and should be shipped to me soon. I haven't seen too many private user reviews yet, but I expect this should be very nice.

I'll post pics and a mini review after I get mine.

I'm going to check the MB410-II once they become available. If it meets my expectations i'm going to buy one along with their new MBP410-II to pair up with it giving me a very configurable 810 rig producing 1000 watts. If that happens, i'll be selling my fridge and tube head.

I am scheduled to recieve mine on tuesday 10-9-12. Which is rehearsal night for one of my bands. I'll report in soon after that.

For the record I have been using an MB212 for over two years which replaced my old Peavey 410 cab and amp.

Set back for my MB410-II

I will be delayed in posting my review of playing through a properly operational MB410-II, due to mine being defective! It has a terrible vibration.

I'm in contact with RMC Audio Direct on getting it swapped out by GK.

Besides the obvious disapointment in the vibration issue, I am pleased with the appearance and new features on this amp. The proper access to the DI is nice, with a pre/post switch also. The finish appears to be a sprayed on textured finish instead of the glued on vinyl on my MB212. I also think I like the black grill.

I hope I get a properly working unit soon.

Got my GK MB410-II today!

All is good! I recieved my replacement amp today, which seems to be working properly. I just noodled around a bit at my work to make sure it's working OK. I will get to play it with the full band at rehearsal tomorrow night.

For now, I'm loving what I'm hearing. It's clear and punchy as a 410 should be, with plenty of bottom end also. I know it will need to break in to really know how it will sound.

I'll report back with updates.

-Todd

The MB combos are all just their MBE cabs joined up with the MB500 micro head. I owned the MB210, but as someone pointed out, it wasn't really loud enough for a rock band. I got a 210 MBE cab to go with it, but even that was disappointing. I eventually decided to get the MB500 amp head and a Neo 212 cab. My intention was to get a second Neo 212 cab, but I ran out of cash and scooped up a 410 MBX cab to sit under the 212. That's my current rig.

MB410-II mini review

Well I got to play the MB410-II at rehearsal last night with the full classic rock and oldies band. I played my Graphite Guitar Systems 5 string with Nordstrand Big Splits - passive VVT, through my always on VT bass pedal.

As compared to my MB212, I didn't notice more or as much volume at the same settings, but I believe I could turn it up louder with out over driving the speakers. Also my MB212 "opened" up after breaking in awhile, so I'll have to see how the MB410-II breaks in. It seems now to have tighter lows and low mids.

We had guests at our rehearsal, so it was more like a show than a rehearsal, so I couldn't really fuss around with the settings much. I got a great usable tone out of it right away.

I'll post more as I spend more time with it.

-Todd

You wont hear a noticeable volume difference at the same settings. Wattages have to be at ridiculous levels to get an actual volume increase. What the 4x10 should accomplish over the 212,210, or 15 is relaying what you are doing without rattling the speakers, vibrating the cabinet so much that it kills what you are doing. In short a 4x10 will (or should) relay the actual sound "better" than the smaller cabs which cant hit full volume without so much unwanted noise that you find yourself wondering why you dont just give up and go get drunk.

A decent 410 will relay whatever you do without really effecting the cab. Get a 210 to the same level of output and youll be looking for shelter hoping speaker shrapnel doesnt decapitate you.

Waiting to hear what your final thoughts are on this amp...been debating this one for awhile now.
