GK Neo 112-II vs Ampeg SVT210AV Any opinions on these light little cabs? I'm looking to stack two vertically, so any observations on the differences in depth, loudness, punch and versatility would be greatly appreciated. |
One obvious difference is the high end. The ampeg cab has no tweeter. GK Neo II has a quite bright tweeter. For this reason alone I went with the GK. |
Both great, but they sound very different. The little SVT-210AV's do a pretty good job of sounding like their big brother 8x10. Nice focus and punch. The Neo112-II goes deeper, as well as higher, and has a bigger, more open sound to it. |
I know this isn't a neo 12, but I was just comparing a couple of heads through 2 svt210av's. Then, for kicks, I plugged one of the av's into a gk mb210 combo. The appearance of additional bottom end was very noticeable. The av's do work very well on a gig. For me, sometimes that bottom that sounds so good at home alone translates into boomy in the band. Also, if you enjoy "glassy highs", the av's won't do it. |
