GK Neo 4x10 vs GK MBE 4x10 (Gallien-Krueger)

I have a MB Fusion amp head which is 500w@4ohms and 350@8ohms. I am looking for a 4x10 to use with it. Trying to choose between the following 2:

Option #1: I was looking at a GK Neo 4x10 at a local Guitar Center. It is 800watts and is rated at 8 ohms. $599

Option #2: I was comparing it to a GK MBE410 which is also 800watts BUT it has an 8ohm version and a 4ohm version. $449

One thing that seems weird is that Option 1 is $150 more expensive than Option 2. I am guessing that Option 1 is more expensive because when comparing the features side by side, it looks like a sturdier build. It also has removable casters and handles.

I am going to be using the cabinet for regular gigging and touring. I am assuming that I want Option 1 because of the sturdier design, casters and handles. But they only offer it in 8ohms and I am not so sure I would want to get it if I am only going to get 350 watts out of it.

Which one I should get if I want to get the most wattage out of my 500watt head?

From the GK website:

Neo 410
• 4 or 8 ohms
• 800 watts...

Thanks! Not sure why I didn't think of checking the GK site specs. So does that mean that the Neo (Option 1) would utilize all 500watts of my head? Am I correct in assuming that the Neo is a sturdier build?

Nothing weird about it. The Neo is a superior cab all around.

I would respectfully suggest to you that the relatively lower impedance should not be your sole concern, and is not even the most important consideration here. A highly-efficient cab - and nearly all GK cabs are exactly that - should be able to make a substantial noise indeed - even on "only" 350 watts.

Question: Why are you so dead set on a 4x10? How do you know that a good 2x12 wouldn't be just as good for your purposes...maybe even better?

The difference depends on numerous factors: specific makes & models of cabinet, the particular type of applications you have in mind, tone preferences, power handling ability, form factors, etc. etc.

I'm simply questioning whether your consideration of a GK 4x10 is well thought-out, based on specific playing requirements and quality criteria...or not?

Because 4x10 is what I want. The thread isn't titled "4x10 vs 2x12."

For durability the neo 410 will be the leader.
They may have distinctly different sounds even with the same speakers. I found this to be the case with my neo212 I and 212MBE. I believe they use the same speakers (neo 212 II and MBE have same speakers), but have VERY different sounds.

The mbe cabs have a lower quality tweeter than the NEO series cabs. On the mbe the tweet has an on/off switch as opposed to the well executed controls on the NEO. I own a neo212 and NEO 115, and actually wouldn't want to go any lighter to be honest. Many posts on this forum to suggest that while the mbe series may work well for some tonal goals, they haven't got the same build quality of their slightly more expensive brethren- or of many other well priced NEO options.
