GK Neo Cabs: 410 x 2 or 410 + 212?

Hey guys, I have put this off for far too long, but I took the plunge today. I'm ordering in my first GK Neo Cab, a 410. I have a GK 1001RB-II (thanks, metallicafan!), so words can't express how excited I am to have both of them in the same room together. I was just looking for some opinions on the setup for a 4 ohm stack. This may not happen till just after August, but do you guys think that two 4x10s, or a 4x10 and a 2x12 would help to make a better balanced stack? Metallicafan18's already helped me out a bit with the matter, but a few more viewpoints would be welcomed. Thanks!

I personally like the 410 with a 212 but I am planning on running a monster stack in my next band. I use a GK 2001rb with a Neo 410 but I plan on adding a second 410 and a 412 and having the best of both worlds. I like to dream big.

Drag it around and try it with other cabinets.

If you really like the 410, then sight unseen I'd say go with another 410, it's a safer bet. Not to say that 212/410 is a bad combination, but personally I'd have to try it and like it first.

I use a GK 1001RBII with a 212 and a 210 and it rocks. You could break windows with this thing if you wanted to. And the tone....yummy!

I have a Neo212-II and a Neo112-II, and those two sound great together (and yes, I realize I'm driving the single 12" driver harder than the two in the 212). I like to use this setup with a 700RB-II. But I also own a 2001RB, and I'm just not comfortable throwing all that juice into a 2x12 and a 1x12. I had considered getting a second Neo212-II, but after listening through a number of GK cab configurations at NAMM, I'm hooked on the Neo410/Neo212-II combo. There really isn't a wrong choice, here, but I definitely like the 410/212 combo with these cabs.

Tom.

I'd probably go for the 212 to have a different standalone option if nothing else. Plus, the G-K Neo 12" drivers sound amazing.

I use the 1001rbii and the Neo 4x12 cab, trust me nothing else can touch it, 2 guitarist down tuned I really loud and a hard hitting drummer, no problem my sound gets through with room to spare. Love the setup, cab is a pain to move though, worth it for the sound!

Hmm, these are all good points, thanks! I was thinking of maybe getting two 4x10s so I could technically push the same air as an 8x10, but you're right Nedmundo, it would be smart to get something that worked well in a stack situation, and also gave me another standalone option if necessary. I'm hoping I'll have the chance to try at a 2x12 in the coming weeks, but my city's music stores make it a habit of providing the weakest selection of bass cab options I've ever seen :S (unless you do a special order of course... but people want to try gear out too!).
