GK neo and GK mbe question

Sign in to disble this ad
The GK neo 212 cab and the GK mbe 212 are both outfitted with the neo speakers. The GK mbe is about 150.00 less and weighs about 17 lbs less. Other than the mbe being a 4ohm cab and the neo being a 8ohm cab are their any differences?

The Neo is biampabille and the mbe is not. Also the Neo has a horn whereas the mbe has a tweeter. The neo is also in a larger box and has a deeper sound. Im very happy with my mbe though.

I got a good deal on the 212MBE, 4-ohm version, and I’m pretty happy with it. It’s just a bar-gig stage monitor for me, so it wasn’t worth spending too much on, and it provides all the volume I could imagine wanting for that.

The tweeter didn’t last too long, though. I thought I had it turned off, but apparently it was on, and I blew it. This was the first time I put the MB500 on it, but I really don’t care, as I don’t want it on anyways.

I own GK neo 212-II and the neo 115-III and I wouldnt want ANY more weight taken out of it. There is always a payoff. They take 5lbs out of the grill. Grill feels thin and flimsy etc etc. The neo cabs are awesome still though, and people are lovin their mbe enclosures too.
