GK neo speaker choices

After waiting forever for a Gk neo 212 to come in I decided to go for 2 112s instead ,as they came in sooner, the 212 finally came in and although i m happy with the sep. 112set up I m wonderin if I should swap one of the single 12 s for the 212 so for bigger shows I d have 3 12s or swap both for the 212 and eventually get another 212, I guess my question is whether the 212 w 112 on top would be that much louder than 2 single 12s, In a claasic rock, funk sitch. driven by 700 rb 11. Cheers

If your amp can handle the impedance, it'll be-approx- 1/2 as loud again. AS usual I could be totally wrong!

All cabs 8 ohms so any pair would drop to 4 ohm, tho in the case of 212 with 112 I believe the 112 may take more of the 480 watts where as stacking same cabs distributes evenly...I m leaning towards keepin the pair of single 12 s but wonderin if the 212 112 set up really much louder.. 412 s would be.Cheers

I've run a GK RB700-II for years into either GK Neo 212's or 112's. I have pairs in both cabs. That amp into two 112's is about as perfect as it gets for me. Big fat punchy tone. Something about that combination that just works. The 212's also sound great, and if I'm doing an outdoor thing I sometimes use that combination as it does push more air. And I suppose common sense says that it would have a louder perceived volume because it is pushing more air... but... a GK RB700-II into two GK Neo 112 cabs is simply a killer sound in my book. If you've already got the two 112's... live with it for a while. It's a really, really great rig.

I'm running a 4-12" NEO cab with my 550 Fusion and couldn't be happier! That thing moves some air and sounds great no matter where I play. If you can swing the $$$, either keep both 1-12" cabs and get the 2-12" or at least trade them for the 2-12" and save up for the second 2-12" cab.
