GK Neo112, TC RS210 and MB LMIII?

I've searched and read as many of the TB listings concerning the pros and cons of mixing cabs. And, it tends to lean toward not doing so. However, I came across a great deal on the GK Neo112 that I can't pass up so I'm hoping to get it. I've been looking for a TC RS112 to pair up with my RS210 but with all of the great reviews on the GK Neo112, I couldn't pass up the deal hoping that this may help complement my RS210 with the low end. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated...both for and against this pairing. I figure, worst case is, if this doesn't work out, I can keep the one I like best and sell the other and search again. Thanks in advance.

You got it half right -- there are certainly cons, not really any pros.

That said, the RS112 is a mismatch just as the Neo112 is, so you probably won't be any further behind! Your implication that the larger diameter driver will be deeper than a pair of the smaller drivers is unfounded; I think you may need to go back and revise what you've read.

The GK Neo 112 has a cab tuning at 51 Hz. I suspect it may go lower, but most likely, there is a strong drop off around 50 Hz. A low E fundamental is 40 Hz. Another 2 x 10 cab would increase your volume and perhaps the low bass, if that cab is tuned for it.

Thanks for the quick feedback. I really appreciate it. Well, looks like I'll see which one I like better with my LMIII and then sell the one I don't like. I think each, by themselves, will sound great with the LMIII so I think it'll be a tough decision. Any additional input is welcome.

Very few full-range cabs are tuned lower than this, and those that do trade-off on sensitivity. But it doesn't matter -- while a low E is at 41 Hz, for bass guitar by far the greater energy is carried in the second and third harmonics (at 82 and 123 Hz) in any case. The old Ampeg 810s rolled off at around 80 Hz, I believe.
