Does anyone know when the new GK powered enclosures are going to be available? Their website just says "new for 2011."

They look good. They are really made for GK gear though.
I would be surprised if they didn't get them out by 2012

They may be made for GK gear, but I'll bet that they will sound decent using any good DI out. After all, it's basically like using an effects loop to bypass the pre-amp section on a regular amp.

I'm currently using a powered speaker to do this now...but the GK might be even better.

So these cabs come essentially with a poweramp built in, so all you need is a preamp? Not exactly for me, but it is cool, and I could see how lots of people would benefit from them.
