GK RB700-II and 210MBX cabs

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey,

I'm looking into the GK 700RB-II and I'm wondering if the 210MBX cabs are good for it? It seems they only put out 200watt...and if they 700 RB is somewhere around 450, would it be a problem?

I was thinking of using one 2x10 for practise and two for gigs. Would I be losing a lot of volume by doing this or would it be able to keep up with a 100 watt marshall and a 4x10?

Playing in a three piece, raw, rock n roll punk band.

Cheers
-Geraint

just got one

Just bought the rb700, running it through a rented traynor 4x10 until I can afford the neocab. I play metal and I love this head.

Doesn't seem like Traynor are readily available in the UK. I'd love to get the 4x10RBX with it...but I'm nowhere near in the position to pay out £100 on a new rig!

Spend the extra 100 bucks and get two MBE 210's. Not much more (50 bucks per cab) for WAY better speakers.

Good choice. The extra 100 bucks is somewhat painless when you consider how much better they are.
Gotta be happy, right? That rig will rock!!

Just gotta hope my current Laney B1 rig sells...otherwise I've got no hope :<

Just a quick question, would the 210 RBH be loud enough to gig with? Because I'm thinking the quality difference between an RBH and MBE could be worth dropping one cab. Especially if it's loud enough on its own. Or would the ohmage result in too much a volume loss? Anyone know?

The 210RBH would be enough for some gigs but it's an 8 ohm cab so don't expect it to come close to the coverage of TWO MBE 2x10's. Sonically it's gonna be around the same as one MBE.
I would sell the RBH, the Laney stuff, and get the GK700RBII plus the two MBE's. Then, at a later date, get the GK MB200 as a backup head (cheap). Now you're covered for all situations. Can you trade all the old stuff in at your music store?
