GK RBH Casters: replace or upgrade?

So I bought a Gallien-Krueger RBH 410 cab off of craigslist today (my 2nd rbh in 4 years) but it didn't come with the casters for the bottom. Considering its weight and my need for portability I'm stuck needing casters but I'm not anxious to buy a new set of oem GK wheels because of their notorious unreliability and being prone to breaking. I've heard of guys buying and installing wheels from a local hardware store but i've never seen anyone happy with how they turned out. Has anyone had success replacing their oem casters? Any recommendations of what to get?

I've been using a 1000 lb furniture dolly from home depot to move mine since my stock casters failed.

It works really well unless you've got to go up or down small steps in which case you need to lift the dolly by hand since it's not attached to the cabinet.

I had the same issue with a Peavey 1x15 cab, about 75 pounds. I bought casters from ACE Hardware and they work wonderfully well; I mounted them with #10 by 1" screws.

I bought casters rated at 200 or 250 pounds each, if memory serves...and they're not cheap. I learned the hard way that you really need to buy casters with a much higher weight rating than the actual weight of the cab. The impact generated by a roller hitting a crack in pavement generates force that's many times the simple weight of the cab.

I have owned GK 410RBH and 115RBH cabinets for 5 years and haven't had any issues with the casters. I have never heard anybody complain about their reliability.

I rented 3 different rbh 410 locally, all with some degree of severe caster wear, and then I bought one 4 years ago with 1 caster 1/2 chipped off and another almost the same. When I've asked locally it seems to be the consensus that the casters wear out easily and need to be replaced regularly. That's just been my experience, maybe Vancouver just got a bad shipment of casters and everywhere else they're good. I'd prefer if that was true.

A buddy of mine put casters on his cab and HATED them. Then we lubed them up with lithium grease and bam, they work really well.

The stock ones are removable. Is that option important? You can probably find higher quality removable casters, or just but some 2" or 3" quality castors on there.
