Hey there guys!
I'm looking for a new top/box combination and i was wondering if this combo would work:
(Gallien Krueger 400RB-IV) http://www.musicstore.de/nl_NL/NLG/...-BAS0001816-000
WITH:
Fender Rumble 4x10" http://www.musicstore.de/nl_NL/NLG/...-BAS0005324-000
or this one:
Warwick WCA 4x10" http://www.musicstore.de/nl_NL/NLG/...-BAS0002515-000
I don't have any local dealers which have these products to try em out..
Other than that, I own a Musicman Sterling Ray 34, and I'm looking for a punchy/agressive sound.
Will the Warwick/Fender cabinets work good on high volumes etc? and won't the speakers fart if I push alot of middle into them?
Sorry for my bad english and the bunch of questions haha..
Thanks in advance!
Gr.

I have been a GK lover for years, and as a current owner of a Ray 34, the pairing of "GK and a Ray" is AWESOME!!! As for the cabs, any cab with proper power rating and impedance match will "work"; it's a matter of preference. What I can tell you is that I tried the Rumble 350 combo, and the 2x10 array handled fine, and sounded good. The new Rumble series stuff seems to be built very well, and the cabs/combos are Eminence loaded. Hope this helps. Cheers!!!

| | | The GK amp + W cabs combination is a very good one IMO My previous rig consisted of a 700 RB-II and a pair or WCA 411 Pros; the GK kept the sound clear, warm and articulate, while the W cabs had a lot of bottom and worked well both at high volumes and putting out the frequency of a low B with ease.

| | | | Thanks for the responses guys! On another forum someone adviced me to get a Hartke XL 2x10" cab (aluminium cones). What is your opinion about those?
Thanks! |

| | | It will be hard to get W411 pro, cause I had mine already ordered from some store - they are gone, out of making them; if you get one, specially at that good price, it is worth a try; i didn't have a chance.
Depends what you want, I like my GK 700 rb and GK cabinet, now waiting for Tech 21 b 410 - awsome; if you want middle rock range, solid bottom and good highs. For me mids are the most important - when you play in a bend- these tones you need to be heard. If you agree - stay away from Hartke, specially aluminium speakers - only bottom and highs - nice for solo, with a bend - you disaper, you are gone, done... |

| | | | Well, yes, mids (low mids and high mids) ,specially low mids I thing (if I am not right, give me commentar) makes you to be heard in a bend (in a rock band, with distorded guitar). Low end is ofcourse nice to shake the floor and stage ... but it can get too muddy then (also in the range of low mids then) and not so define and clean. Depends also what kind of music do you play - mids are usually more for rock. I don't like some new styles with horn; but not all (they can have low end highs, and lacks in the mids - like Hartke). I don't play just rock, but I like to be present in the mids, for nice groove; so the box I know that have this: - Tech 21 ( a little les low), Gallien (also a little les low in the cheap model, top model - has everything) and Ampeg (top models has everything also, a little more soft - not so agressive sound then other two, my opinion). |
