long story short my amp was broked while my friends happened to be playing it.
They had the gain all the way up and turned on my Fuzz Factory. The light in the power button went to pink and flickered, the same as it did when i blew my tweeter.
anyone know exactly what this color and flicking means? as far as i know it means that whatever is having electricity run through it is messed up.
it should be under warranty still. Has anyone dealt with GK and their warrantys? also should i send it in to their service center or a local place? and if you have sent something into gk's service center how does it work, shipping info i assume.
so besides the obvious
a) yes ill get it looked at at a place for the warranty
b) i know broked isnt a word, it made me laugh
c) no i have not seen it yet this info is from past exp and a phone call from my bro

| | Hey, what does this knob do? | | Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: New Hampshire | | | I agree 100% with that comment. Make sure you charge your so-called "friends" for your time and for the shipping charges involved in sending the unit back for repair. Also charge them for the replacement part(s), because they're not covered under conditions of abuse, which is what caused this problem. My guess is that you're looking at a bill of somewhere around $125-150, not including your time to pack and ship, and not including shipping costs. You'll probably be presenting your so-called "friends" with a bill of $200, more or less.
The problem with your amp is that the tweeter is blown. Described in the simplest possible terms, during power-up, GK amps "read" the speaker load and determine whether it's correct or not. In your amp's case, it's not, so the amp won't power up all the way.
The larger lesson here is NEVER to leave your bass kit in a place where others can get their hands on it. Don't feel bad, though -- sometimes it takes some personal exposure to No, your "friends" don't really care at all to drive the point home. |

does blowing the jack on the cab make sense to you? OR does the power button flickering tell you anything more than the combo is fine and its the cab thats the problem?

Send the thing back and say "it just failed." You may suffer some karma blowback, but that's up to you.
