GK2001RB Loud Pop on Shut Down

Sign in to disble this ad
So based on the good reviews from fellow GK users here on TB, I just purchased a mint condition 2001RB from Guitar Center Hollywood today.

I'm using the head with my Genz Benz 212T NEOX 4 ohm cab.

In Bridged Mono with correct speakon cable in either of the L/BR outputs and with the rear "right amp output" turned all the way clockwise when I shut amp down into standby mode there is a slight delay followed by a very loud pop from my cabinet.

As practice before turn off and on i turn volumes down, boost down, and engage mute button.

This is very concerning as my 800RB doesn't do this. Also when I tested and tried out amp in the store connected to a GK 2x12 NEO cab there was no pop on shut down.

When I take amp out of bridged mono and go into normal mode the popping still occurs but only on the left side outputs. If I plug into the right side outputs I have no.popping noise on shut down.

The amp sounds amazing. I'm concerned about this though.

I sent an email to Brian at GK also but any replies would be appreciated.

Thanks!
