GK700RBII power supply changeover?

Received my GK a few days ago, imported it from the states to australia. I need to change the power from 110v to 240v for aussie power. However, according to the aussie supplier for GK parts, that is not possible. I am not convinced though, and was wondering if anyone knew how to do this or has had experience doing it? I want to avoid using a step-down transformer if i can, but if I have to use it, then I have to use it.
