I went to his shop over the weekend. I played a 1x15 with a tweeter and a Lil G. Wow. I bought one on the spot. 1200 watts, that how many watts the Lil G can handle. He told me to push it; and I did. I feared that his TV was going to fall of the wall. No hype.

And by him thinking it's a Jeep, it worked.

I'm not the least bit surprised, Virgil.

Seriously, glad you got a chance to check one out. That's the easiest way to understand what the cabs are about. If you get a chance, check out the Kustom KXB500 class D amp. I've been using that combo for the last month and it's as close to unbelievable live sound as I've ever gotten. Just big, rich, controllable sound with plenty of headroom to spare. I've never had a live rig sound as good as any setup with my Lil G.

I did a gig Sunday night that was a great example. Medium sized room, very well damped, mature musicians and a soundman who went for a big natural sound. Even when we did a low to medium volume Jazz set the sound quality had everyone in the band looking around and smiling... we knew it was something special. When we really got going, even on what I'd considered "questionable" songs that had been requested, the sound just got bigger and bigger but always maintained it's high quality. The Lil G rig matched up with a high quality drummer is a thing of beauty.

Honestly I'm not sure why some people want/need to believe the cabs are hype but I'm cool with that. I'm pretty sure I'm not known for overblown hyperbole here or IRL, since I get the chance to check out more gear than most people, when I find things that blow me away it usually does tend to be outside the norm. In this case way outside. I've got mine so that's all that really matters.

Received my Lil G the other day. This thing should be called BIG G! It loud punchy and nice has low end. I'm able to get a modern sound and vintage with this cab. My cab has the 8/4 ohm switch. Ran a tecamp bonafide bridged at 4 ohms, 825 watts....had my test room rumbling like a 410 x 115 rig. Ok, maybe not that big, but I'll say it matches a 410. Also, Sammie Glass customer service was wonderful! Might be looking at a Lil G 115! Great cab folks.

Played the Lil G 212 with a Tecamp bonafide at 4 ohms kicking 820 watts! Man, this thing cuts!!!! We play through a house setup at church and IE's. The cab was hitting so hard on stage, I took out my IE's and just listen to the cab sing. My music director, a bass player also, said the cab sounded really good! He was looking to see the name of the cab too. Lol I'm not a technical person, but if you are looking for a great stage cab, lightweight, hits like a 410 and doesn't sound like a Schroeder....get a Glasstone!

I have to give Sammie Glass, Virgil & Brad a big thanks for answering all my PM's and emails about this cab! Being that I only had YouTube vids to hear cab, glad I purchased.

That's Malcolm Hall and it was a short midweek outdoor afternoon gig that paid. I would've done it too.

My pleasure. It's a lot of money (thought not compared to the other small builder cabs) so anytime I can help establish a comfort level I'm happy to. And the beauty of this one is you don't need two for big gigs.

Over the years I've only recommended gear that I use or have had experience with so after I got called a shill as an early adopter of Markbass and then the stuff that went down with this cab, it's nice to read about Virgil and your experiences which mirror mine.

Very glad it worked out for you. Not the least bit suurprised. These cabs seem to be largely ignored here on TB, eventually that should change as more folks back up what I've been saying from the start. In any event, I've got mine.

Glad you mentioned that. This is not a cab that's voiced for slappers or Gospel (though it kills at both) as I saw assumed elsewhere. It works with any vibe players throw at it so far. One of earliest owners plays classic rock. And it's pretty amazing with acoustic bass. AND OTHER INSTRUMENTS.

When you get a chance, run keys through.

Still, it wouldn't hurt to give a general price range to generate (or quell) interest would it? I really don't want to bother someone at the company when I'm just kicking tires, although in my case, I am looking for a cab but it's a want not a need, so I'll buy when the right cab at the right price comes along.
