Ugggg! Why didn't I think of a two tone Glasstone Lil G! Ich bin ein Dumkopf!!

Ah, no big deal. I still love my Lil G, more so now that when I got it. I love it when my bandmates ask how all of that sound comes out of that lil cab. My reply? I say easy, just watch then I pluck a string and grin!!

You don't need special colors for that....just having the Lil'G makes you stand out and be heard!

As the delighted new owner of a Li'l G 12 cab, I've got a few comments to offer.

Rev is a great guy to do business with.

This is a gooooooooooood sounding cab. The bottom is tight and clear but very meaty, all the way down to an open B. The mids are just a bit scooped (this is to my liking), but readily EQ-able. The highs can be as bright as anybody could want, but the tweet doesn't sound tinny. In short, this cab avoids the problems in some other cabs: subby mud on the bottom, thinned out mids, harsh top end.

The transients are snappy, both the attack and the cutoff. I'd describe the response as quick, and I found myself ripping a crazy slap lick and pulling an Urkel--did I do that?

IMO, this cab is a slapper's delight, for sure. And with an EQ tweak or two, it's great for fingerstyle funk.

I'm digging on it, for sure.

And yeah, it's loud. And stoopid light for a 2-12 cab.

Ya got a winner there, Rev.

All I have to say is, "this cab is the best!" Played it last night and received good compliments. Fellow musicians were amazed at the sound coming from a 112. Lol I never told them it was 212's. When we were doing sound check, the guys told the sound man, I didn't need to go through the house. Lol My setup was my Lakland 5594 and Genz Benz SL900. Great debut at bb kings Nashville.

Looks like there are good things happening in this thread. I was wondering how the LilG 212 would match with the Streamliner 900 which works best with cabs having strong mids and tight lows. Since that amp is rated 500 watts into 8 ohms but is not 2 ohm stable, I thought a pair of 8 ohm LilG 212's might be a good modular setup for the STM900 as it would push up to 500 watts rms into a single cab and 900 watts into a pair. Are the LilG 212 mids such that you can get some nice mid grit and punch with the Streamliner? I currently run my STM900 into a pair of Eminence 3012HO's which is an excellent match but the Faital PR300's have a bit different voicing.

Too me. The cab adjusts to the amp. The SL900 is boomy, so I turn bass back to 11 and boost mid and treble to 1. I was running mine at 4 ohms, have the 4/8 ohm switch, so it was pushing the full amp. If I run in 8 ohms, only one speaker plays and when I switch to 4 ohms both speakers play. Rev really built these cabs to be a single option, I have two and use a stereo/2 channel amp to run those cabs.

Man, I have to chime in again and say these cabs are da bomb! I felt like Fred Hammond playing this morning lol. My ShuttleMax 9.2 with the sonic maximizer is crazy. Super tight bass, sweet kids and piercing highs.... My Cirrus has never sounded better!

For the first time in my life I'm satisfied with my tone... I still want a Brubaker, but I feel like my sound is pro level now!

Cool, I'll bet that's nice with the SM9.2.

With my twin 3012HO cab, I run the STM900 with gain button out, gain and volume 2:30, bass 9:30, mid 10:00 @ 2.5kHz, treble at 12:00, master as needed but often ~11:00. This seems to push the preamp signal a bit which makes the tone fat with a bit of aggression. The bass is tight and not too big but small adjustments can really be heard and felt. I've found the Streamliner controls pretty interactive and how you run the preamp gain structure affects the eq settings you end up with to make it sound best. In 8 ohm mode, is only one of the 2 drivers active with the other as a passive radiator?

I'm not sure how he wires the regular 8 ohm cab, but the cabs with the 4/8 ohm switch, in 8 ohm mode it cuts the bottom speaker off, so you would be rocking 112. In 4 ohm mode both speakers are active.

Let me tell you about my customer service with Glasstone.
As those of you who own a Glasstone cab. are aware, they put out massive bottom. Because of this, I wanted to have very few moving parts on my cabinet. I talked to Rev. Glass and he ordered what I wanted for my already completed cabinet. He not only recut and installed the new handle - he literally tore the cabinet down, installed larger and tighter screws to both drivers, checked for grounding issues, installed his latest 4/8 ohm switch, and insulated the interior.

Hey, I just had a noisy handle. He did everything else, without my asking, to satisfy a customer ! How many manufacturers of anything would do that ? Check the pics !Click image for larger version

Subscribed! .........This LiL "G" cab is at the top of my G.A.S. list now. It's got me selling everything except my wife and children to get one.

Anybody looking for healthy children on the black market please p.m. me. (This was a joke, my kids are not for sale)......for the right price though, uh.... never mind their not for sale.

Still waiting for mine. No reflection on Rev at all, he's fantastic! Fedex is just taking their sweet time and the tracking info on the website hasn't been updated since last week. But I called them and was assured it would be arriving tomorrow. Not sure if I'll sleep tonight. Better than Christmas! (except for the worship aspect of the holiday)

My Lil G 212 and Lil G 210 arrived today! Tried them with an EA iAmp Pro. They sound HUGE!!!! The Rev. Glass makes some amazing stuff. The sound is articulate and clear. Not "boomy" or muddy. The sound is rich and full. Everything I was hoping for. Fantastic!

What do these cabs sound like? Have any AB comparisons been done against other known cabs. I'm very interested in the 2x12 in a 1x12 form factor but need to have some idea of what it sounds like before pulling the trigger.

Any videos exist? Or sound samples?

I looked thru much of this thread so forgive me if I missed this somewhere.
