Glock Heart Rock vs. Soul

Sign in to disble this ad
Howdy. Has anyone ever A/B'd these and, if so, how would you compare the loudness or volume of these (either the original HR to original Soul, or HRII to SoulII)? In other words, if both are set the same in all respects and, say, 12:00 for both input gain and volume, how do they compare? If the same, when do you notice a difference (at what settings)? Thanks, DM

I think Prockenklang either sells Glock gear or has tried a lot of it. You might be the first non-dealer to have the pleasure of hearing the two side-by-side. So what do you think?

I've heard/worked with both and have the soul combo.
I'm not a dealer.
I have not A/B'd them as such but like them both.

Don't know if that's a position of distinction yet. Is Prockenklang a TB member or what?

And CNLTB - what was your impression about volume/loudness between the two (per questions above)?

Thanks, DM

The Heart-Rock is quite a bit louder than the Soul. It also has a faster response. I had a Soul and it was great. I now play a Bass Art. You'll love either one.

yuppadupp... I'll second that.

I read somewhere that the Soul II has the same fast response as the H-R but is not as loud.
I used to own the Bassart pre, and am thinking about getting it again. The Bassart head is great too.
I am now thinking about getting the Bassart again, or the mike pope mpp1 and maybe sell the soul in aid of that.
Not at all because I don't like it, but because it doesn't get the use it should being the nice amp it is.

From what I understand, the only thing they did to the Soul to make it a 'Soul II" was move the midrange EQ points to match the HeartRock.
