Glockenklang blue (need feedback!!!!)
I am thinking of getting a new head. Has anyone tried a glockenklang blue soul? I play a lot of funk, jazz, rock, reggae, blues etc.... And play a fodera monarch. Looking for advice.
There is a full thread full of reviews on the Blue Soul if you do a search.
That Blue Soul thread is quite long, and most of it is just speculation posted prior to the head's release. The first actual review starts on post 203, so start there.
One of the impressive things about the Glock Blue Soul is the power module it uses. I've provided the spec's for you below. It is not the typical 'bridged 2 x 125 or 2 x 250 modules used by many class D heads (nothing wrong with those per se), but a true monoblock 1000 watt module, that I assume they have 'throttled down' to 650 watts into 4ohms, resulting in very impressive performance (no compression, big open low end, crystal clean top end... maybe too crystal clean for some).
Monoblock Amplifier 1000W
•1x1000Wrms/4ohm @ 1% THD
•Full range operations 20Hz - 45KHz,
•residual noise <40uVrms unweighted
•20Hz – 35kHz +/- 0.5dB ( -3dB @ 60kHz )
•THD+N <0,05% up to 1000Wrms/4ohm @ 6,67kHz
•+/- supply outputs for front end /crossover
•8V stand by output for signal sensing circuit
•<1W stand by mode when delivering 150mW to signal
•Over current protection
•Over temperature protection
•Over voltage protection
•Meets CISPR22 on conducted and radiated emissions
•115/230VAC - jumper selectable
Here is the link to the thread. Again, start on post 203 and read through... it isn't that bad to slog through if you skip those first 10 pages or so.
