go for GK 700rb?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been just offered a gk700rb-II new for $400. I have an ampeg b2r on an ampeg 410hlf through fender j's and p's. Played it at the store and it is killer. Definitly seems to match up better and i can get my rock/blues sound punch i like. Seems like a good deal and has the headroom. A good deal?

I suggest you take the ampeg br2 to the store and A/B them before you spend your cash.

I also like my rb 700; can get almost anything. With a good cabinet it is punchy in your face, clear and very define. And powerfullenough (with two cabs) for any stage.
But, check it out by yourself - play with a "countour" and watch out the "presence" control - can get really bright, if you want ofcourse.
EQ is nice.
Bi-mode (for regulation of tweeter) works only with RBH cabinet (amaizing things) or if you play a little with wires on your other cabinets.
And yopu have two levels: "level" and "woofer"; and "boost" is to get a little more growl.
Have a nice try.
