Looking for suggestions on a really good 1x15 combo in the $700-$1500 price range? Playing on a Lakland 5-string basses (fretted and fretless).
Thoughts/suggestions??
Thanks |

Lots of talk about other lightweight GK combos around these parts as well. Take a look and listen for yourself.

Maybe stretching your budget a bit, but combos doesn't get any better than that...

I like it,Though it doesn't seem very loud to me.
Rich/juicy tone outa that though.(only way I can describe it)
Its my "go to" amp when I'm screwin around at the little music store near my house.
You didn't say what type of music or sounds you like..as it may not be the most versatile...or the best amp for metal.

They're 3 different ranges, kind of Beginner, Intermediate and Pro level.
Electric Blue 180w (EB) : $495
MAG EVO II 300w: $690
ABM EVO III 500w: $1,190
Just my personal suggestion

I agree that the Markbass 151P combo looks good, and probably sounds good. Very portable.

Hoping Markbass will release an aux. cab for this model, but will one day get the NY151(and turn tweeter off) if they don't. I also like the front control panel over the CMD151P's top/rear mounted.
I do want to check out the new Ampeg solid state Portaflex and 1-15 and 2-10 cabs. I have a feeling I'll still like the 1-15 best. Early reports I read seem to prefer the 350 watt versus the 500 watt head for it's simpler user friendliness. |

Heavy, yes, reliable, oh yeah. Pretty loud as well for only 100w. |

Wound up getting my Berlin for I think 935 during a promotion at GC. The lighter weight and ability to add a second cab tipped the scales.
The Fender is already @ 4 ohms and no ability to add a second cab. Loved the tone and look of the Fender very much.
Seems a lot of folks are getting away from 15s, but I can't help it, still the way to go for me. |

| | | | I was asking about the Fender TV because I found a decent deal on one (~$700). The sound is very nice. I think I may bite on this one...
Thanks for all the advice folks. Keep in coming... |

| | | | I know someone must've already said thus but It seems to me a seperate amp/cab ua a no brainer. Much more versatility and thw possibilitiws to mix and match are endless. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
