good 200w cab

Sign in to disble this ad
Im looking for a good 200 watt bass cabinet. I am looking for something for under $300. I already have acoustic b200 but I need another amp because I am now in 3 bands and sometimes have to leave it at one of the practices so I cant have it at another one so I need another amp. So if you have a suggestion please tell me.

go used and get a decent 410 or 115. you can get super deals on really good stuff used if you don't mind a few cosmetic deficiencies.

Since the B-200 is a combo it will be hard to just add a 410 or 115 to it and not have to haul the B-200 around too to drive them.

I made pretty much the same mistake, and I later had to buy just an amp - in my case I had bought the B-450 (210+ horn & B-600 head inside) and then I bought just the B-600H plus the B-410 cab for my situation.

I shoulda just bought the B-600H first with a B-410 cab and then just added extension cabs as necessary - but it all works out if you get enough gear anyway.

that combo is running at 4 ohms, and even if it lets you (not sure if it does or not), adding a cab makes it run at 8 ohms, which will cut the power to approx. half.

Yeah - like I said, I've got the B-450 and it's slightly different in power and a few other things, but the specs from Acoustic state:

Quote:
Rear panel features include a parallel effects loop, tweeter on/off switch, and XLR balanced Line Out with Level Control and Ground Lift. The series extension speaker jack provides an output for an additional cabinet such as the Acoustic B-115 or B-410.
As it's designed, and although this isn't the OP question: since it already has a 115 in it, just building a stack with either a B-410 or another B-115 on the bottom would be nice. I think I would lean heavily toward another B-115 cab though.

I tend to remember that the internal driver, when you add an external cab, that they are in series and that may modify the Ohm reading somewhat from what we're used to computating.

right...the impedance goes up instead of down and cuts wattage instead of increasing it like parallel speaker outs do.

It may just be me, but I'm a bit confused by the op. The facts, (as I understand them). already owns a B200 combo (?), looking for a 200 watt cab (?), or another amp (?)- My old brain confuses easily, perhaps a little clarification?

He wants to have a rig at another site and thought his B-200 could handle another cab or so.

What he's forgetting is that the B-200 is not a head, but a combo cab with the amp built in.

This all goes out the window if he mistyped the info and he really has a B-200H, which is a head and not a combo cab.
