This is a thread that should be stickied. Or maybe wait until everyone contributes, then someone organize it into a database you can reference by country, state, and city. I'm certainly not going to do it, but I know one of you will

Armand is the coolest. A bit like taking a step back into the 60's including the old tube testers.

yeah, i've found that my trusty old Triplett 3444 and maxi-matcher tube testers paid for themselves along time ago.

If you're anywhere on the Island, and you need a good tech, call Electro-tech labs (Wading River) and ask for Vinny at (631) 929-0926. He does the best work you could ask for on tube and solid-state equipment. If you bring your gear for repair to any number of dealers in Suffolk, chances are that Vinny will work on it. He'll do custom work, too, like installing a bias pot or changing from one type of power tube (say 6L6) to another (say 6550). Plus he's honest and if you talk to him directly, instead of a store clerk, you "eliminate the middle-man". He has done work on my SVT II and '73 Deluxe Reverb, and installed a bias pot on my '72 Princeton Reverb. I would never go anywhere else.

Contact information?

Is Jack in NYC or on Long Island?

I've used two: one in Ithaca, NY, and one here in Tallahassee, FL.

The one in Ithaca I'm sure people are aware of. It's Voodoo Amps, NOT Voodoo Labs. Trace at VA makes his own amps and has a list of mods. I had his shop clean up my SVT-II, and it sounds way better. They mainly do guitar mods (Peavey 5150, in particular, sounds really cool), but they had a go at mine and it's much nicer: Voodoo Amps.

The other down here in Tallahassee is Class A Electronics. They've also done work on my SVT. One of the preamp tubes came loose, so they went in and patched it back up. They also do a lot of quirky stuff with modding children's toys - worth a look: Class A Electronics.

In Denver I found that Noel at Stubbyfex is pretty good. Very honest work, fair pricing, and overall good to deal with.

Stay away from NBS Electronics.

I found this link that has tube-tech links from all over the USA and Canada. http://www.el34world.com/service.htm Several are in the Los Angeles area. None that I have used. Other states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pensylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Washington.

Here's a tech I've used with excellent results:

Jerry Blaha, Amp Crazy, Hollywood, CA http://www.ampcrazy.com/
Expert Amp Repair, Modifications, Custom Electronic Designs, Repair & Restoration Parts

Jerry's also a musician and has been doing his electronics thing for over 30 years.

AccuTech in East Hartford, Connecticut.

Billy Zoom, better known as the grinning lead guitarist of X, has or had an amp repair shop in Orange, Calif. A friend of mine spoke very highly of his work. I'll see if I can find out if the shop is still in operation.

Fixes stuff, mods, upgrades on amps, cabs, guitars, basses, keys,

their motto is: "If it plugs in we can fix it."

They can fix it, and they can add features to your gear to make it better.
+1

Roger is a great guy and does great work. Only problem is he gets a lot of work and it may take 3 weeks or so but he does have a rush service for extra.
