Good Bass Amps Around 1000 Dollar Range

Hey I'm wondering what are some good selections for around 1000 dollars. I'm going to the store to check some amps out but I'd like to know what to look for. Doesn't matter if it's a combo or head and cab, just has to be around 1000.

Edit: I'm also interested in what PA speakers can do for the overall volume so that I won't have to push the amp.

PS My drummers really ****ing loud, and rock is the genre, and we live in canada
