A Good Cab For a Line 6 Lowdown HD400?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking for a 400w cab for a Line 6 Lowdown HD400 head, So far I've been leaning tword a Gallien-Krueger Goldline 4x10. They have them at GC for $250 which is a reasonable price. Any other suguestions for a cab? and would the gk work well with the line 6?

I am partial to Ampeg 410HLF's but for the price I would grab one of those nice looking GK cabs......

I have a GK410MBX and IMHO I think it's great. I am responding because I just bought a Line 6 HD400 that will be arriving tomorrow. I think that I am still going have to wait until my speakon cables arrive (probably friday). I would try the headphones but I do not think that is a good representation of what the amp can do. Once I try it out I can let you know if you like, although I think you may have your rig by then.

I use the HD750 and Line6's 4 x 10 cab.....it actually sounds VERY good...
I play them BECAUSE I like them , NOT because I have to. (FYI)

Well, I finally got my HD400 and I have to tell you that it is a tremendous difference from my 1988 Carvin Pro Bass II. Don't get me wrong, I think I made a pretty good choice for my first amp but I wanted to try something new. I am not disappointed at this point and I still have to familiarize myself with all that it can do but I wouldn't change a thing especially when it cost less than $300. I like the idea of have an amp that can give me more than just a few differences in sound/tone. I will eventually get myself and Ampeg or GK Shuttlemax one of these days but for right now I am happy with my choice.

The controls are quirky, but with a little twiddling, you will find it is a great head.

Thanks for the quotes guys....I LOVE playing my Line6 heads and cabs....I can get almost ANY sound I need.
It just stinks that they stopped making the 750 head
I know a few MAJOR pros who still use the 750's and won't get rid of them too.
Even though I have an endorsement with Line6, I went out and BOUGHT an extra 750 head on my own cause I really like them.
Hey where's the Line6 bass club?
