Good deal or what?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm always looking to get rid of gear or wheel and deal in trades some how and I come upon this amp.

Heres what I had always up for dealin:

Geddy Lee Jazz (immaculate)
Gallien Krueger 1001rb II (immaculate)
Gallien Krueger RBH 210 (blown tweet)
Peavey BVX 115 (notebook size tolex tear under cab)
~$400 (a little dirty and crumpled but still useable )

So like I said I'm always looking for gear and I come across this:

Wait for it....

SVT-8 pro

Long story short the original owner didn't like the amp because apparently it was too much power.... He traded it to this shop for another amp and this is where I came in.

At the end of the day I traded all the gear I mentioned above plus my smelly money for the SVT8. Guy hooked me up with another speakon, strings (for me and my guitarist), and a 15ft PW cable.

On top of that he also is covering the amp for a year brand new through him and the amp was never registered. Got online and registered, threw this ontop of my ampeg 810 and done.

SOO... What do you guys think? Good deal? Bad deal? Ok deal?

If you're happy with it. Then it's a good deal.

It is my opinion that the shop got the better end of the deal.

Now you have to figure out a way to buy six cabs to use that 2500 watts of power.

+5 It's a nice head, but man oh man. They're going to make a nice hefty profit from that deal.

Well, you always lose money when you trade in gear - the shop has to make a profit. But it was a good deal if you like the amp and didn't need the stuff you traded in (minus the cash ).

Still a rockin amp though. I can't imagine ever needing more power than a 1001RB-II

I definitely like the amp. Thing about it is is that I wasn't using that gear for anything at all and I picked everything up (both cabs and amp) for around $500 about a year and a half ago minus the Geddy Lee.

I did have a hard time getting rid of the Geddy Lee but I just got a ESP LTD B414 Spalted Maple. So the Geddy Lee hadn't seeing much action since the one band split like four months ago.

Now to find those six cabs I need now haha.
