Hi, i currently am running a ashdown abm c210 500 watt and i feel that it is too big and very "deep" and growly for a nice clean tone that i want.
i currently use a fender aerodyne jazz bass and use a few effect like flangers and synth effects and i am looking to spend around £400 thats around $650. does anyone have any ideas in which i should try out? i would also like it to be quite loud as i play medium sized venues.
cheers, jared.

anything in the new wave of modern lightweight SS heads with some sort of 12" speaker, or two 12s is what i'd opt for. really theres a ton of options.

a hartke a100 would be a good choice for that. I own one and it sounds totally awesome and it's loud enough for medium-sized venues. another good choice would be a gallien-krueger mb115.

Don't forget to put Carvin on your list of candidates. On this board you'll find reviews for all members of the MB series, and I believe Carvin has demo videos available.

The hartke hydrive combos are small, light, powerful and have a gorgeous clean sound with a smooth top end
