A couple days ago I played through a single 15 cab that I totally dug (but it was a combo). I haven't played through a 15 since high school and have fairly exclusively only used 10's. But it sounded sooo good. This got me to thinking of adding a 15. I know who makes some great 10's and 12's. But I don't know who makes a decent 15.
Anyone know who makes a high quality, smaller, 8ohm, single 15 cab that won't break my back? I'd prefer tweeter-less, but not a deal breaker.

Epifani- Good but $$$
GK- Never tried the 15's. Like the 12's though. Very Durable.
Carvin- OK for the price, not very efficient, tends to get lost in the mix.
Bag End- a good bet. Used one for years until I got my EA 12's

| | | | Ampeg Classic Series. A bassist I spoke to recently uses the Ampeg Classic Series 1x15, coupled with a 4x10 of the same series.
When prompted if he would sell it, he instructed me
"over his dead body!" He loves it.
The manual doesn't show a Horn.
And they are only about 450 bucks new.
Definitely worth checking out at least!

Traynor TC115. 8 ohms 400 watts,no rat fur, pop out castors etc etc sounds great and won't break your back or bank account brand new! A better warranty than most too.

Try out a Bag End with your F1 and see if you like it. I don't see a MarkBass 15 cab without a tweeter. You can always turn them down but they still sound different. |

Actually that Berlin combo is what turned me onto 15's again. The Zon sounded great through it.

Oh, wait. I guess that doesn't qualify as "small."

Rezdog | I agree. Not too many know what good cabinets the Traynors (and Yorkville Sound) are. Great warranty although you probably won't need it unless you willfully destroy your gear.
I've used various versions of their 1x15 cabs for many years. |

Plus they're pretty light weight. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
