Good Trade? Thanks

I have a chance to trade my Line 6 lowdown studio 110 for a "Peavey 115 bass combo amp", He says it is too loud for his gigs. I will be starting to play shows soon and was wondering how well the peavey sounds and projects? Thanks

Depends on what it is. If it is TNT or a newer one. It's OK but nothing great.

I've owned two Peavey Combo 115s. They are definitely louder than the TNT. I bought the first one in about 1980. I didn't like the sound of it (that's when I learned I don't like 15s) so I sold it a bought a Peavey Bass Mark IV head and an 1820 cab. Much better.

Then, in 1994, I bought another one, thinking they surely had improved over the years, but they hadn't. So I sold that one and bought an Eden WT-300 and D-410XLT. That was a vast improvement.

Bottom line, if you like the "vintage" muffy sound of 15s, you might like the Combo 115. If you like clean, articulate bass with crisp highs, you won't like it.
