(Gospel/Jazz Venue) Need a good rig?

I'm a newbie to playing in a public setting (such as church about 400ppl). I'm not a beast or anything. I'm still learning, but I kind of get lost in the sauce in the pit. Really hard to hear anything I'm doing consistently. The church currently has a hartke A100 combo, But I'm definitely investing in an amp and cabinet. Not sure what to get at this point. I've heard eden is good but pricey. I need something that can cut thru though, you know. Any help is appreciated!!!

Ideally a church of that size should have a PA. So you should have your cabinet mic'd or just ran from the DI out. Then the soundman should just turn you up in the mix more. IF your church has no soundman or a pa, then they really should invest in one especially if they serve 400 people in a service.

Sorry about that number...typo! more 150-200. I thought I hit the 1. Looking to spend probably about 1500 or under for everything.

For 1500, get an amp with 300-600 watts, and a nice 4x10. Should have money leftover. Brand choice is personal preference, just don't skimp out with cheap spkrs.
