Traded for it just this afternoon. Demo'd it, but haven't really played it yet. I'm thinking this might be enough amp to cure GAS for a while.

Mesa makes the best bass gear on the planet in my opinion! Great score. The 600 is a little less popular these days as Mesa has so many models out but that doesn't make it any less outstanding! Welcome to clean tubey goodness!

I couldn't agree more. I have a Walkabout/Scout and just got an M9 last week. It's pure tone heaven when you plug into Mesa gear. I realize Mesa is not loved by everyone, but it sure hell is by this bass player in Kansas.

Congrats - I recently picked up a BB750, but think I'd be pretty happy with an M-pulse 600 as well - they're both great amps...

Hi Chef, thanks.

You have a '61 King H.N. White carved top double bass?

I am familiar with King brass & woodwinds, but didn't know they made basses.

But do you think King actually built it, or was it made for King by another company? I only ask because building a double bass and building horns out of brass & silver are very different things.

'tis pretty awesome.

What did you trade for it? (I ask because I wish to live vicariously through your trade )

Made by HN White Company, sold under the King name.
They also made the American Standard line.

Love mine. I got one from a Venture Combo so it has a slanted front which is nice.

I've had one for 5 years now. I put two '70s NOS RCA 7025 tubes in the preamp. It powers 4x10 and 1x15 powerhouse cabs. I'm getting older and man those cabs are HEAVY! The Jazz sounds killer though. I have yet to go past 1 o'clock with the tone knobs.
