I have seen a Bassic12 in Dave Homer's shop, but have not heard it as it was not finished when I was down there. I will say that cab is all speaker and port! Chucko has one I believe and I might ask him what his impressions are.

My Bassic12 has the Faital 12 and a tweeter in it. I use it all the time at my blues band's rehearsals. It's a great match with a Carvin BX500 head. It doesn't go as deep as the 15/6/1, but it has a very "organic" sound to it, and it will handle a low B respectably. Don Barry built it out of Arauco ply; it weighs 27 lbs. with an aluminum grille.

If you want a grindy 12 have you considered the 3012HO? I had a 3015Ho in my previously owned Barefaced Compact (no tweeter or mid) and that driver really grinds the mids to my ears. I have not heard the Faital but if you want grindy perhaps the 3012HO would be a driver worth looking into.
