Grill cloth amount for Vintage Ampeg 810?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am going to put new grill cloth on my '69 Squareback. The fliptops website says I need "TALL CABS USE AT LEAST 4FT.: SVT 8X10, B25 2X15 CAB, V2 4X12 ETC."

Has anyone put new grill clot on any of these cabs and if so, was 4 feet enough or should I get 5 feet? It says "at least" so just trying to figure out. I guess I could just measure, but I was hoping to order today and not at home at the moment.

I can measure tomorrow I guess if no one has a definite answer.

Thanks!

Just a guess, but they're probably taking installation into account: 4' will probably cover it, but 5' will give you more to get ahold of when you stretch it across the frame...

Again, just a guess - I'd call them and ask for their recommendation - I've found them to be quite knowledgeable and very helpful, too...

Just get the 5'er. You can always cut some if you have more than you need, but its a lot harder to add more!

Measure once, cut twice right?

Four feet will give you just enough at the top and bottom to wrap around the edge and staple.

If you are good and the material that you are sent is square, you will have enough. I wouldn't count on it being cut square or that there would be any extra when cut.

Like everyone else is saying, I would order five feet.
