Guitar head on Bass Cab. Suggestions?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I'm a guitarist and wanted opinions off of anyone who has done this before, I'm trying to get a Kyuss Sound, Josh Homme used an Ampeg cab and it was some kind of Head that Might have been a guitar one, like a Marshall, I was wondering if there was any Bass Heads I should try out? I already Use a Bass Big Muff through my marshall to get a fairly decent Bass and Fuzz Tone, I play guitar in a Psychedelic Band and use a lot of Effects like Wahs, delays and Synths.

so basically, I'm looking for a head that is either guitar or bass, to play my guitar through to get a Bass sound. any suggestions would be much appreciated.

thanks

Get a Bass player most guitar amps will work well for a REAL BASS guitar.

Actually you are correct! Ignorance is bliss? At least for a ex guitarist, long time bass player on a bass forum?
I'll have to check out Kyuss.

Unsure if it's true, but someone once told me it was an SD1 into a Ampeg V4 (or V4B) into an Ampeg 8x10 which had the baffle board removed and replaced with 1x15.

I used to have a smaller Ampeg 1x15 and it was great for sludgy guitar tones!
