Pretty freakin' cool!

The Bass Monster Mr. Flea returns! The Peppers all look very well, smiling "on the Cover of the Rolling Stone"! Flea is also on the cover of the new Bass Player Magazine. Really good interview and on the top right of page 37, Flea says "I actually just found a bass amp that I love - the new Acoustic 360 head and 361 cabinet." Perhaps there was some merit when Basstradamus prophecized about "A Low Sonic SkyBlue Phoenix to arise from glory ashes". Who knows, where a Flea starts a Vulture may still crookedly follow. We'll see. One things for sure, We Will HEAR!!!

Enjoy & Play On All!

acoustic USA is back!

I plan to get one some day. Until then who better than he, the Flea, to do the R&D and put those monsters through the paces? Talk about burning it in!!! It can't get much better than that. I heard they, acoustic USA 360s and 361s will be going with him on their upcoming tour. Road Test.

In "inflation adjusted" dollars, it's less than what it cost when it first came out.

Still costs too much. $5,000.00 MSRP is a bit frippin' ridiculous for an amp, a 18" speaker and a horn. Are these things made by elves or what??

I'll stick to my current setup, thanks.

Hm, the videos not terrible. I wasn't real impressed when I first heard the song, but the vid might have pulled my appreciation in the opposite direction a wee tad. Maybe the album won't be clunker. Hoping I'll be able to stream it somewhere.

Preordered the album with a tshirt, poster and physical copy in the mail. I wasn't feeling rain dance maggie by what i heard on youtube, but when I downloaded a high definition m4a file and heard through my car and headphones I was really liking fleas stuff and tone. Different for sure, but who wants a band to keep making the same record over and over?

The Acoustic USA website says he has 4 rigs of three 360/361's. That's a lot of oomph...

It was until it wasn't. Not everybody who thought the advance viral marketing with a secret handshake mentality was a crap way to run the operation, thought that it was vapor - only some people pummeled the vapor aspect.

B-string, got a link on a change from US manufacturing?

Uh-huh......Right....and those folks who were so damn busy "pummeling" are suddenly nowhere to be found....

There is no "link" to a change from US manufacturing. They are being built in good 'ol PA.

I believe that B-String was attributing the cost factor to the American manufacturing process.

While I personally believe that $5,000 is fairly steep, I can't help but remember that it wasn't that long ago that I paid nearly that much for a Heritage CL and HSVT 8X10......so, I guess that it really is relative.

And yet, their objections were somewhat worth airing at the time, and are not, now. Do they owe someone an apology? Beats me, but skepticism was not totally unwarranted give the way things were handled/not handled. Myself, at the time, I didn't care if something I figured would be grossly overpriced for my own tastes was going to join available product, I was just alternately appalled and amused by the clumsy forum use by the guy with the waybig fonts.

Anyway. I figure selling product is its own reward. One is vindicated by the mere act of doing that. Hopefully he people at Acoustic USA are not focused on what someone said way back when, and are finally seeing some financial promise and reward.

People who are NOT working for Acoustic USA can gloat or grumble all they want for whatever reasons but being a vocal supporter or non-supporter back when surely didn't either hinder the availability of a product, or aid it.

I, for one, feel I'm owed an apology for having been called a shill and a liar for reporting on what I'd discussed with George and on what I'd seen and heard while trying out his prototypes.

Although this seems more a discussion of Flea's new gear than the new RHCP release I gotta say I was pretty dissapointed by Rain Dance Maggie..Struck me as generic RHCP verse followed by generic RHCP chorus, repeat. Might be more Anthony's vox than anything else but I'm really hoping for some solid tracks on the album. People are saying "oh, do you expect them to sound the same and always keep their (insert older album here) sound?" Id say this seems more an extension of Stadium Arcadium RHCP with less creative development..Then again it was only one song. End of ramble!
