Hartke 215XL questions

Sign in to disble this ad
Can i use a hartke 215xl with my gallien krueger 700RB II 115 combo? The combo is 320 watts at 8ohms, and 480 watts at 4ohms. There is 2 speakon outputs for 2 8ohm speakers, and also the regular outputs for standard cords into 2 8ohm speakers So I am assuming that I can't just plug this combo into my Hartke 215XL alone and get the full 480 watts out of the amp because this cab is only 4ohms. Or can i just unplug the internal woofer from the Galline Krueger and use the Hartke 215xl alone, and get the full 480 watts from the amp? Will this work?

Yes, you'd need to unplug the internal 15 in order to use the 4 ohm 215, but you'd get more than just increased wattage. The 2 15's will be much more volume than the combo's 15 was. Don't attempt using all 3 15's, or you risk serious damage to the amp.
