Hartke 410 transproter converted to XL

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Guys,

Earlier I mentioned I have the transproter series 410 cab and 2out of 4 speakers are already blown. Was searching for the replacement speakers and found out that they are hard to get.
Was gonna replace them with eminiece speakers, but figured if I'm gonna spend alot of money on all four good quality speakers, I might as well order another cab. So I decided to get a new one instead.
While thats in the order, I found 2 pcs of the XL series 10" aluminum Hartke speakers on line. Planing installing these in my transproter, just wondering what issues will I have since there power rating is different, however thier rated at 8 ohms just like the other remainig 2 speakers.

So this is what I got:

2 x 10" speakers @ 8ohm, 75watts
2 x 10" speakers @ 8ohms 100watts

Total max wattage in cab is 350 watts

1 Hartke head amp HA2500 @ 250watts

Will my amp push the mix speakers???

Thanks

IMO your fine. The speaker impedance stayed the same just the power rating of two of them went up 25 watts. In a perfect world speakers should be identical.

Hey Ibanezbass671,

It's probably not a great idea to do this for several reasons, give me a call and I'll be happy to explain it to you and help you work this out.

I guess Mr. Hartke will tell you that the TP speakers work in sealed cabs and the XLs are made for a vented cab
I LOVE hartke stuff but I have no luck with it. The first time I got a 210TP... wasn't good as a stand-alone cab. Piercing mid-highs and no lows.
Got a 4.5XL (used) and it rattles. I guess God doesn't want me to use Aluminium cones?

Well, I gonna scrap the idea for now..... I lost the bid for those 2 hartke speakers on ebay by 1 dollar

Larry, I'd PM you, sorry I don't have long distance service for now

As far as the condition of my cab, its still solid, and my TP is ported so no sure if the XL are ment to be sealed, but I thought thier cabs were ported too.
