Hartke 4x10 buying

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello I'm negotiating a price with someone for a hartke 4x10 but there is one blown speaker. SO what would you guys say is a good price to try and get to. I've heard all the problems with getting new speakers for them so i'm not completely sure. I was thinking to try and get him to around $150 if i can which should leave room for a new speaker. What do you guys think?

What cab is it? Hartke has made a number of different models. Speakers blow for a reason. Whatever caused 1 to blow was likely also done to the other three so I wouldn't expect them to be in great shape either. I personally would not buy a cab with any blown speakers unless there is an understanding that I am buying an unloaded cabinet. $50

Sorry I should have went into a little more detail. The cabinet is a 4x10xl, one of the aluminum ones. Also The speaker wasn't exactly blown. The owner accidentally punctured one of them. The cab goes for $350+ new. I've just heard that getting a replacement hartke speaker can be a pain.

If you can't get the driver then the cab is worth nothing. What do you mean by it's a pain to get one?

$150 is too much for a non-functioning hartke 4x10. I just sold a fully functioning transporter in excellent condition for the same price. Granted the XL is a better cabinet - but not if aint working holmes.

You should contact Samson Tech and see if they might have a replacement they can sell you. With a blown speaker, try to talk the guy down to 75 and it might be worth it if you can buy a replacement which will probably run you at least $50 itself.

Let us know how it turns out. Subscribed.

I owned an XL 410 for 20 years. Loved it.

Well I talked to Larry and he gave me a number for a service guy, john antonelli. I called to ask but got a voicemail. So once i get a hold of him I'll find out how much a new driver costs then I'll see what I can offer the guy for the cab. Overall though I'm impressed by how helpful Larry was. Plus we had a nice little conversation just a cool guy.
