Hartke 4x10 XL and Peavy MKxx - Anyone?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey folks, does anyone here run a Hartke 4x10xl with a Peavey Mark whatever?

Experiences?

Pros / Cons?

I've got a 1980 Mark III, and am about to get another cab, and am wondering what kind of experiences folks have with running the two together.

Thanks!

I used one or two (depending on the gig) of the original Guild/Hartke 4x10 with my Peavey Mk IV (the original Mk IV with the 6-band EQ, "Automix", 210 WRMS @ 4 ohms, 300 @ 2 ohms). It sounded very good and I did really like the rig. I only went away from it when I discovered Eden stuff in '97, but the Peavey/Hartke rig was the most common rig I used for ten years.

I think the 4x10 XL is the way my pendulum is swinging, I found one on the cheap, so I may pick it up. I will be pairing it with a 2x15 sub (4 ohms), so my impedance should be at 2.67. I know, it's an odd value, but the head is rated to 2 ohms, I think it'll be okay. I won't be hauling both of the cabs around, unless absolutely necessary.

Hopefully this isn't a bad idea.
