| | Hartke AK series cabs
I needed to grab an instrument cable today. I ended up chatting with one of the guys who works there whom I've known for years. I was noodling around on a Schecter Stilleto and he tells me to plug it in.
I plugged into an LH1000 and an AK410. I was curious about the 410 as I've never tried any of Hartke's paper coned cabinets. I must say that I was really impressed. The cab had a tone of mid-range punch, a smooth low-end, and plenty of highs, even with the horn in the lower setting. I found the cab to be very warm. I would have loved to have tried it with one of my heads.
I used to own a HyDrive, but sold it because the speakers seemed to hit their xmax way too early with tube amps. It was an otherwise great cabinet. But I really dug the AK cab I played through.
While I love my Bergs, there's a part of me that just loves the sound of a sealed cabinet.
