Hartke cab/head?

Sign in to disble this ad
In the market for a head and cabinet purchase. Definitely looking at a hartke. Was wondering if the Hartke Hydrive HX112 would go nicely with Hartke LH500? Any words of wisdom or advice in regard to this possible purchase would be really helpful. Thanks y'all

It all depends on what you're expecting the gear to do. A 1X12 can only do so much. If you're using it for home practice, it will be great. In a loud rock band setting, you'll probably need at least another cab. Atleast I know I would.

Haven't used the hydrives but have heard/read only good things. I do have an LH500 and really like it. I'm using 2 Fender bassman 15's. I would guess the hydrives are a bit better than the bassmans.

the hx112 is no good for rock band, you wouldn't hear yourself over the drummer even with the amp volume turned to the max.....I have a 2x12 cab with LH500 and I need to turn it up to 6-7 volume to be heard.
However if you just playing some sort of soft acoustic jam with no drums, the 1x12 is fine.

I think you should buy the lh 500 with at least a 115, and after that if you need it, you could buy a 410 to have more power. Because I don't think that the 112 would be enough power, unless it's just for pratice at home on you'r own.

Agree with the 4x10 and 1x15. To me that's the best setup

The 410/15 pairing is among the worst, albeit popular choices. An average 410 can handle more power, and output more volume, and in most cases, put out more low end- so the 15 becomes a weak link, limiting your entire rig to whatever that 1 15 is capable of. Bad choice. Much better to pair 2 identical cabs, be they 2x 115's, or 2x 410's.
