Well, I've had my LH500 head for about two years and loved the tone and EQ simplicity. At practice recently I started getting the "frying egg sizzling sound" with each note played, but it was intermittent. Shutting the amp off then back on seemed to cure it for the short term. I changed out the tube with no improvement. Swapped cabinets and changed basses/cables to make sure it was the amp acting up (and it was). I was pretty bummed and was worried I'd be without an amp for several weeks. I took the amp in to my local shop (where I bought it) expecting a long wait warranty repair deal. After a few days, they called and said the Hartke rep would make sure that the amp head was replaced with a new one. Apparently there were a couple others with the same problem. 1 week and I had a replacement LM500 head. Sounds better than my original one if that's possible.
Kudos to Hartke for standing behind their product. In a market where you usually get the run around corporate shaft, Hartke made good on their own. Wanted to post this good news story (for a change).
