i own the hartke transient attack 5000, and found a good deal on a gallien krueger backline 600. Which would you use if you had your choice, and why?

Hartke is alot better suited for guitars maybe it's just me not being quite as partial to their tone. But GK has stepped up quality here lately just like Ibanez with their basses. Anyway, I find the GK to be alot more capable of dialing into a more broad spectrum of tones alot quicker and easier. But, they also have a pretty unique sound so youre not going to get the "tubesque" warmth you may get from other heads, (maybe hartke, maybe not) But it really boils down to going and playing it. I've made the mistake once of following only opinions and bought an instrument I didn't play although it was reviewed highly and is overall capable, it didn't match my style and now I'm stuck with it being used and all. But anyway go test it out, the GKrb700 head is very capable and not too steep. But happy hunting too you and good luck!

Gotcha.

For something like the Hartke how is my power "allocated"? When the amp is saying 8ohms for each of the outputs I'm not going to need to worry about the low impedance those four outputs would have together? How is the 500 watts split in a scenario like that?

Thanks!
