Hartke HA2500 Graphic EQ Issue.

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I'm wondering if you guys could maybe help me with my Hartke (Don't want to contact Larry, as I'm sure he has his hands full with the hurricane right now).

I own an HA2500 that I play through an Acoustic B115, and I'm having some trouble with the graphic EQ.

First, some background. I've only used this setup for home practice, almost always at minimal volume, with a passive Fender J, an EHX Bass Blogger, and a Behringer Chorus. Nothing extreme, I've never really pushed this thing volume-wise either.

Yesterday, I began having issues with it. When I engage the EQ section, it goes up to ungodly volume, with hissing and sometimes feedback and squealing as though all the bands are maxed, even though I have it set flat with a slight bump in the low mids.

Any idea what could be going on here?

Sounds to me like there may be a problem in the graphic eq circuit. I'd take it to an amp tech and have it looked at, OR, don't use the graphic eq.

That's what I was afraid of... How much should I expect this to cost?

That depends on what is wrong and we can't tell you that from here. Did the amp only have a one year warranty??

Hey Lemon,

No problem, just give my service manager Joe Antonelli a call 1-800-328-2882 and he will get you up and running. There will be no charge for the repair! If you need further help I'm right here 201-680-8153 Cell.

Joe is at HQ out on Long Island, NY so I'm not sure after the hurricane what day they will reopen depending on electric and all that, they got hit pretty hard out there.

Thanks for playing Hartke!

Maybe it's now in Manhattan!

Seriously though, I hope all your people are safe and sound. My thoughts are with all of those in the area hit.

Thanks Paul, I'm fine where I am in New Jeresy and I'll be back at the barbecue in just a little while, like everybody else I spent the day pumping water out of the basement.

My thoughts exactly! This is why Larry is the man. I just hope everybody is okay up there with the storm - We definitely got our @$$es handed to us down here in Richmond.

Great to hear that you guys are all ok after the storm.
Super to read this thread re Larry's replies & terrific customer service.
Imo, these co's with the great CS will be the prospering ones as time goes on.
GB, Hartke, & now Ampeg seems to've gotten their act together, which is great.
I, for one, was deeply saddened with the sour moves/direction LOUD took the great Ampeg brand earlier.
Thank goodness, they listened to their users & common sense prevailed, & now they seem to be moving in all the right directions.
I just wish the hire co. , that supplied the Hartke bass rig at the annual jazz festival I played at last nite, kept their Hartke rig in good condition.
I posted how the rig sounded BAD!
But, I also posted how the HA3500 can sound fine, as can the HARTKE 115 cab that was with it. But these had obviously seen better days, which was a shame, as the ppl there in the audience etc....(as well as I)had to put up with muddy sound.
This is saying nothing about the poor FOH PA too.
If they'd kept that particular bass rig in regular services etc... it would've been a fine rig to play thru, instead, many ppl there (a lotta muso's in the audience too) would've noticed a muddy & lack-lustre bass sound.
Especially our reg. followers, as they always hear us with a great amplification system/s

Eh, sorry to hear about that... Hartke is really great stuff. But it needs to be maintained like any other electronic equipment.

Also, It is good to see the other brands figuring out something Larry knew all along.
