Hartke HA5500 - Back panel input?

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok so I've been using this amp for a while now, really cool piece of kit, really cheap too. However, even though the unit is rack-mounted, I can't find a back input to the amp. I'm trying to connect a sansamp RBI, but it won't work in the effects loop (for some reason) and the only way I can connect it is if I have the lead going from the back of the RBI, around the side of my rack and into the front of the Hartke (which looks really unprofessional).

Can anyone shine a light on this? Is there even a back input on the Hartke?

the effects return should work, ive used a vt pedal that way with a hartke 3500 by just plugging my bass into the pedal and the send from the pedal out to the effects return. Make shure you turn the effects balance knob on the back all the way up, cant remember which way but experiment. The EQ circuit of the amp is actually after this jack so you can still use the EQ and tone controls of the amp this way.

make sure you have it in the right hole. I have the HA5000 and I use the effects loop for my tuner, which works fine. I'll admit I havent tried to run my russian muff out the back yet.

I've just about got it working. It's a little bit quiet, but it still works. Connecting a tuner doesn't work though, signal is far too weak (but I'm not really bothered about that). It was a case of conncting everything in the wrong order and with the wrong holes. Finally got it all working though.

Ok this thread was a waste of time
